Today Catie and I made play dough! It turned out great and we've had so much fun playing with it. Catie has a few store-bought containers filled with now-brown playdough because she mixed all the colors. So we made one big batch of yellow.
Here's the recipe:
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons oil
2 cups water
food coloring
Add the food coloring to the water, then mix all the ingredients together in a large nonstick saucepan. Stir constantly over medium heat until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the pan in a big blob. Turn the dough out onto the counter and knead it for a little while. When it's cooled some more, have fun playing! Store in an airtight container.
This recipe made a nice size lump of dough. If you tore it into two chunks, they would be roughly the size of two softballs.
