Magna Doodle art only goes so far...
I just spent several minutes drawing a really cute frog on Catie's Magna Doodle. She took one look at it and exclaimed, "Hey! That's Pete!"

Drama Queen
A few days ago Catie was grudgingly helping me clean up the play room when she plopped down on the floor, let out a long dramatic sigh and said, "I need a break!"

You want a what?!?
On Sunday, Catie suddenly blurted out, "I want an enema!"
WHAT?!?
After some careful questioning, I finally figured out that "enema" is actually one of her friends at school who is named Emma. Poor Emma.

I don't believe that doctor's ever been to medical school...
Catie's area of interest has shifted to medicine lately.
She will come up to whomever and say, "Your leg is broken!" Then she'll grab your hand and drag you to the play room. Once you sit down, you realize with alarm that she is not pulling out her doctor's kit, but rather her Handy Manny tools, and is about to do major surgery on your leg.
As the tool box serenades you with the rousing tune of "Hop Up, Jump In", Catie deftly uses each tool in turn: the hammer (Pat), the saw (Dusty), the wrench (Rusty), the screwdrivers (Felipe & Turner), the pliers (Squeeze), and even the tape measure (Stretch). The funniest part is that she has sound effects for each tool! "Ur-ee ur-ee ur-ee", "wheep wheep wheep", "tap tap tap" etc... And when she's done, she pats your newly refurbished leg and exclaims, "All fixed!"

And the doc says...
Thank you all who've checked on my health. Here's a quick update:
I did see the cardiologist last week, and there is nothing physically wrong with me. They call my reaction to pain a vasovagal response, and when it leads to fainting, it's vasovagal syncope. Certain things, called triggers, cause the vagus nerve to freak out, it causes my blood pressure to drop, and I pass out. Apparently this happens to quite a few people, and different folks have different triggers. Mine happens to be certain types of pain.
So anyway, thank you for your concern and prayers! The doc told me the best remedies when I feel this happening are to lay down with my feet up (pushes blood to the heart), and also to splash cold water on my face (weird but apparently helps). The folks at work keep asking if we can have a practice run...

Mommy can't fix everything...
This morning during the drive to work/school, the sun was in Catie’s eyes almost the whole time. She kept turning her face to avoid the brightness and finally got frustrated. “Mommy!” she said, while pointing out the window, “Turn off that light!”
