Weekend in Destin

We went to Destin for a long weekend a couple of weeks ago. It was great! Beautiful water (no oil slick yet), beautiful weather, and lots of seafood. Here are some pictures...


This is Catie playing on the beach-playground at The Back Porch. Yummy seafood too...


Catie loved riding the waves in her floatie. It acted like a miniature surf board - a couple of really good waves picked her up and took her all the way up to the sand!

Catie sacked out in Brian's beach chair after a particularly grueling morning at the beach.

Sand angels... We have no idea where she picked this up. After dinner one night she suddenly flopped down in the sand outside the restaurant and started thrashing her arms and legs. At first we thought she was having a silent fit, but then she yelled, "Look! Sand angels!"


Brian and Catie dug this huge hole and filled it water. Catie had a blast splashing in it.


Flying a kite! Catie picked out a Toy Story kite before we left home, and she loved flying it each day we were at the beach. She did pretty good about not letting go of the string, too.


Amazingly, I'm the only one who looks half-way normal in this picture...
